Canyon Diablo Spirits, located in Flagstaff,
AZ, was formed in 2013 by the three owners
with a passion for distilling and brewing,
and a taste for good spirits and beer. One
owner had recently embarked on starting
a microbrewery. Two of the owners were
former members (one the master
distiller/brewer) of the first legal distillery
in Arizona which had ceased operation, and
were looking to start their own distillery.
Through happenstance the three owners met
up and Canyon Diablo Spirits was born.
The company was named for Canyon Diablo, a real, but little known,
short lived, true wild West town. It was meaner than Dodge City and
Tombstone combined, and called the toughest Hellhole in the West.

After a lengthy process from an empty warehouse, federal, state and
local licenses and permits, building renovation, installing equipment,
power and plumbing, getting federal product formulas and label
approvals, production finally began in early 2015.
Our master distiller was instrumental in developing several well
received products at the former distillery, including the first mesquite
smoked whiskey, the world's only prickly pear vodka, a new flavor
desert gin, and a chili vodka. These products gained a loyal following
and we received many requests to bring them back. So we will.
We started our first product out of the still with mesquite smoked
whiskey, the first batch now in barrels ageing. And while our focus is
fine premium hand-crafted artisinal whiskeys and bourbons, we will
produce unique spirits like the prickly pear vodka, our renamed
desert rain gin, and a new spicy chili pepper vodka, along with other
unique products we are developing.
